drama, speech, sports, pep or glee club? Tell about it?"
Hey there blog readers! Since I've been so terrible at writing in my journal, I've decided to answer my journal jar question on my blog. If you want to know what a journal jar is, check it out on Theideadoor.com. or email me and I'll fill you in.
So, the answer to the question....
Yes! I feel that the time I spent in drama, choir and band were some of the best moments I've had in my life (before I had children). I met some of the most interesting people in my life through those programs.
First, my best friend Cheryl Tucker (formally DeSimone). Cheryl and I have known eachother since 1993. That's along time my friends. Although we had class together, I really got to know her in Theatre. I was doing props for Miracle Worker. Carol Johnson (young women's co-hort and I tried out too late (at call backs actually) because we found out too late. I didn't get a part, but I got to do props for the show. At that time at 14 years old, I had to have someone tell me what the hay props were. Anyhoo, she was in the cast and our friendship grew. Larger during the next show, Music Man, where I actually had a part, my first real part. So, Cheryl and I went through many things, from the Toy Story Incident, to the Into the Woods Encounter. We dated the same slime ball and had the same friends. I was blessed to have her be my maid of honor at my wedding and she let me be a bridesmaid in her's. I felt like I was a proud mother when she received her Bachelor's degree. One day, I'll hold her newborns like she held mine. (I'm crying as I write this you know...)
Second, I met Ronald Selim. Selim has sinced passed on. It was so tragic when it happened. If you ever had the pleasure to meet Selim, he had a fatherly presence that I believed would have gone on forever. Well, at least it will-Right my LDS friends? Anyway, one of the most touching things he did for me was to talk to me after I was dumped by a now gay man. Yes, I am a fruit-fly and they swarm around me. So, I was crying in the hallway and Selim came to me and told me that any person that didn't want to be with me is stupid anyway. I was told by my gay friend that I wasn't attractive enough for him. Well, we both didn't know at the time it wasn't because I wasn't attractive, it was because I was the wrong sex! Duh! Well, then it was tragic. This guy didn't flame so it was hard. So, Selim pulled out a sparkly red clown nose from his pocket and put it on just to make me smile. Selim helped me discover my love of the stage and helped me to understand that sexy is an attitude. You can be beautiful at 400lbs and beautiful at 100. I miss him!
So, now my remarks about Theatre. I can not express to you in words what it feels like when you are on stage. The lights, the heat, the applause! Oh, the applause! It calls you...it's been over a year since I've been on stage. I dream about it, I crave it. I have to constantly tell myself that I don't have the time to be in a play-which is true-but I still find myself checking the audition postings. Someday! Hopefully while I'm still young enough to have a good part!
I have to do a little bragging here, but I was nominated last year for a AriZoni Award. I'm very proud of it, I feel it gives me confirmation that I do have a talent and I should try to stick with it. Wow, that sounded really stuck up. I'm not believe me.
I love to sing! It just feels so good. I love, love, love it!
Well enough about me. Looks like I may finally get this posted.
Welcome to my blog! Please feel free to read and comment. It's not just an online journal, it's a way to keep my friends updated on what's going on in my world!

New to the Blog game....My diet
I'd like to thank Amie for her beautiful blog, it has inspired me to try to do one for myself.
Since I'm pretty new to blogging, pardon me if I do it incorrectly.
I've been on a diet for the last 10 years, okay it's only been for 4 weeks. I've lost 17lbs to date. I know I deserve some applause, but I'm about to lose my mind! For example, we went out to dinner the other night with our other Mexican friends (just so you know I'm not Mexican, but count myself in that bunch after 10 years with my husband, weird, I know) the Gonzales Family. Well, they were a little late, I won't say how long, but let's just say I was about to hold a knife to a waitress' throat and demand she surrender the cheeseburger. Okay, I'm not that extreme, but you can't make a fat girl wait for food. Especially when it's her night to cheat. I am happy to say that no weight was gained after that excursion away from Slim-Fast land.
It's really, really hard, but I'm going to keep at it. I did enjoy rubbing it in to James' face that I could do 8 miles on the stationary bike when he only did 2 1/2. He did remind me that he does work outside all day long in the heat slaving away at old folks' front yard. I may not have a physically job, but my brain gets a heavy work out everyday!
